The 75 & 85 series moved even farther away to offer stainless actions and plastic stocks. The major changes came in 1991 with the S/M/L series, removable recoil lug, standardized action size, different bolt work, ugly cookie cutter style stock work, etc. I have owned several of each and can tell you in my experience the quality is very consistent. Most noticeable additions are the new style fully adjustable triggers and the angular bolt shrouds. The actions were sized according to caliber. Every rifle from the L46 "Riihimaki" to the A series were essentially the same with small refinements and improvements along the way. I wont comment on the commercial Mauser style Sako rifles as I have never seen one in the flesh. I'll offer my uneducated but experienced opinion. Too many Sako "experts" that have never owned or held one I guess. You can get screw slot files from Brownell's.Wow, lots of misinformation in this thread. You will probably have to make the set screws by cutting off a piece of a longer screw and filing a slot with a special file. Being softer than steel, brass will not damage the bridge, although it does leave a mark that's not a lot of fun to get rid of.

When using this sort of mounts, I ALWAYS replace the set screws with brass. I see a lot of nice old Sakos messed up this way. These set screws will permanently mar the top of the bridge. Note that like many other non-Sako mounts for the Sako dovetail, the Kuharsky uses set screws to hold it in place on the dovetail. I like the Kuharsky mounts a lot better than the older plunger syle mounts for the external-adjustment B&L scopes. There are a couple of vendors in the Gun List who usually have them in stock. The rings can usually be had for another 20 or 30. Kuharsky mounts aren't terribly expensive - it seems to me they go for about 30 bucks in excellent condition. 243, depending on condition and the relative eagerness of buyer and seller. Offhand, I'd put a premium of $100 or so on a. Price on an oddball item like this is very dependent on supply and demand - some sellers will put an outrageous price on an unusual item and wait for somebody to come along who just absolutely has to have it - other times you can pick up something at a reasonable price. 244's but I bet the numbers are very small.

I don't have any numbers on heavy barrel.
